The Trayvon Martin Case: Enough Already. Seriously.

I wasn't paying attention for the first 9,000 or so reports about Trayvon Martin, a black 16-year-old who was shot by a white Hispanic guy named George Zimmerman. I don't know why I didn't; it might have been because I was on vacation when it happened and didn't want to deal with it. It might have been that, even though I didn't recognize it immediately, my BS meter had gone off.

But upon returning home, I was gobsmacked with a piece of information that really set my BS meter off: the New Black Panthers had put a bounty on Zimmerman's head and were in the beginning stages of a rout, that is, the prelude to a riot, over the fact that the police had determined that Zimmerman's story matched the evidence and did not arrest him.

Now, I have a specific litmus for any cases involving the Black Panthers, and sure enough, the evidence that came out proved me right.

It seems that Zimmerman was on his way back to his vehicle when he was assaulted (assault is a crime, by the way,) by Martin. Zimmerman sustained some injuries in the assault but was legally armed and defended himself from more serious injuries.

Martin is consistently portrayed as a victim in this incident even though HE initiated the attack. When you decide to assault someone, you have accepted all risks, including the fact that you might end picking a fight with someone who might be armed and just shoot you. It fills me with deep gall that outside the Internet, no one will tell the truth about what actually happened the night Zimmerman performed an act of self-defense.

People magazine has a picture of Trayvon Martin on their cover. This cover is a lie because that picture is about five years old. More recent pictures of Martin show him making gang signs to the camera. This a narrative the media has spun can simply not allow people to know that they have flat-out lied about the case. NBC doctored a tape of a 911 call relevant to the night Martin was killed. ABC tried to conceal evidence that Zimmerman was injured that night, only to be caught red-handed by Breitbart.com and The Daily Caller. The New York Times accidentally let it slip that Zimmerman actually weighed 170 lbs, instead of the 200+ that had been the media's fib for so long. I say accidentally because they have damaged their myth that Zimmerman had the odds tilted in his favor in a fight and shooting poor wittle Trayvon was something he did because he was a racist meany.

Never mind the fact that Zimmerman mentored black kids or that he called out a cop's son for beating up a homeless black man. The mainstream media wants you to understand that Zimmerman is an evil racist jerk who hunted Martin down and shot him (despite the fact that the evidence we have contradicts that story.)

American Thinker put together a through article on this manufactured mess. I have some excerpts but you should make it a point to read the whole article:

"John" [a witness who observed the attack] told police that he saw two men on the ground, fighting.  The one on top, beating the one underneath, was Trayvon Martin.  George Zimmerman, in a red sweater, was yelling "Help, help!"  You can hear his screams on other 911 tapes.  A tape was played for Martin's father, and he confirmed that the voice crying for help was not his son's...

... According to Zimmerman's later testimony, he had returned to his truck and was waiting for the police when he was surprised by Martin.  The teen asked him if he had a problem.  When Zimmerman said "no" and reached for his cell phone, Martin punched him in the face.  Zimmerman fell to the ground; Martin jumped on top of him and began slamming his head against the sidewalk.

Zimmerman was not arrested for the simple reason that the physical evidence corroborated his testimony and "John's."  According to the police, he had a bloody nose, a swollen lip, lacerations on the back of his head, and scuff-marks or grass stains on the back of his jersey.  The police had no reason to believe that these were self-inflicted.  If Zimmerman's statement is accurate, Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law, the subject of so much vitriol, may not have been relevant; it applies to individuals who are standing, not lying on their back being beaten.  In no state do you not have a right to defend yourself with lethal force if your head is being slammed into concrete.
Emphasis mine.

The way in which the story has been spun by the media should not surprise anyone who remembers earlier National Hate campaigns: the Tawana Brawley, Duke lacrosse team, Jena 6, and Jared Loughner cases.  Five-year-old pictures of Martin were repeatedly shown.  Photos of the 6'2" or 3" seventeen-year-old wearing gold teeth, sporting two prominent tattoos, and making gang signs, readily available on the internet, were suppressed, as were other images from his Myspace and Twitter accounts, where he called himself "No_Limit_Nigga."

Also missing was any background on the teenager.  He happened to be in Sanford because he'd been suspended from his high school in Miami for ten days on suspicion of selling marijuana.  ... This was Martin's third suspension.  Last October, he was caught with twelve pieces of woman's jewelry, a man's watch, and a flat-head screwdriver.  He told authorities that a friend had given him the jewelry, but he couldn't identify the friend.  When this information was released, the family and left-wing commentators accused those responsible of smearing the teenage martyr.

...Zimmerman's concern about a young black male stranger has been represented as pure racism -- that is to say, paranoia.  This is the assumption that frames the entire narrative spun by the media.  The corollary is that across the nation, young black males, especially those who choose to wear hoodies, are being targeted by white vigilantes.  ...

...Is this what's happening?

At the very beginning of his 911 call, Zimmerman tells the operator that there have been a lot of break-ins recently.  In fact, there were eight burglaries in the previous fifteen months.  Where the intruders were identified, most were young black males, including two who invaded the home of a young mother and tried to break into the bedroom she had locked herself into with her infant son.  This must have been a terrifying experience, but it was not of interest to the MSM....

... It's ... of interest what ordinary Americans -- and extraordinary Americans who are not members of the Fourth Estate -- think of the case.  They're not likely to reveal their opinions to pollsters.  You have to check the comments below news stories, when these aren't censored.  And maybe the election results later this year.  It's always "the economy, stupid."  But there's a possibility that voters this November might also wish to express their preference for candidates who are willing tell the truth about daily life in the real world.  There are still no cameras in the polling booths.

I am furious over the fact that the media absolutely refuses to tell the truth about this case. That Zimmerman had a bounty put on his head should be screamed to rooftops of every building in this nation until the media finally reports it, and the police should not let these threats against Zimmerman go unpunished.

My greatest fear is that the Grand Jury currently investigating this case will simply decide that to patronize Sharpton, Jackson, and race baiters et al, the best thing to do is feed Zimmerman to the lions. I greatly doubt that justice will happen in this case.

Here's a bit of food for thought: over the past year I have been made aware of something called the knock-out game, where a bunch of usually black thugs attack a passerby and try to knock them unconscious, in some cases killing them. Over on Gateway Pundit, the question was raised in the comments section of one of those stories: what will happen the first time these thugs decide to attack someone who is armed?

Now, this is pure conjecture, and I openly admit it, but I think we just found out what would happen in that scenario.

On Same-Sex Marriage

I thought this was an interesting article, so I decided to post a bit of it. For the whole column, follow the link back to RightNetwork.

Article by Stuart Schneiderman

The Grand Pantomime: There Is No Such Thing as Same-Sex Marriage
Same-sex marriage is a fiction. Even if everyone believes that the fiction is real.

When a happy young couple says “I do,” their marriage is contingent on their performing a specific sexual act.

If they want to make their marriage real, they must consummate it. And that means that the meaning of marriage lies in the possibility of procreation. A marriage unconsummated is not a marriage. It is nullified, as though the ceremony had never happened.

To become real, a marriage requires the possibility of conception. It does not require conception. Failure to conceive has never been grounds for nullification. Older, presumably infertile, couples are allowed to marry because if they had performed the same act in the past they might have conceived a child.

From its inception, the institution of marriage has always granted male/female couples the presumption of fertility. A couple that can never, between themselves, perform the generative sexual act cannot be married, regardless of what the state and the courts say.

Moreover, marriage has always been a universal human institution. If Jack and Jane are married in Paducah or in Xian they will be commonly recognized as such anywhere in the world. You cannot say the same of Jack and Jim, regardless of whether they were married in Boston or Buenos Aires. If Jack and Jim travel the world and present themselves as a married couple, most people will be sufficiently polite not to challenge them. But they will look askance at Jack and Jim. ...

... What happens if Jack and Jim are declared by the state to be married? At the least, everyone will be required to play along, for fear of hurting their feelings.
Anyone who might be inclined to tell the truth will be forced to shut up.

Most people know that same-sex couples are not really married. Some of them are too polite to say so. Others are being cowed into going along.

After all, it’s just a harmless illusion, so why not just go along?

Not to be too dramatic, but what happens to us when we are forced to accept that reality is what we say it is? What happens to us when we believe that we can change reality by controlling what people say and how they think?

All of a sudden, this does not feel quite so harmless.
It's a good article, so I encourage you to follow the link back and read the whole think.

The Tucson Tragedy Blame Game

Well, what can I say about this that you all don't already know?

First, my condolences to the families of those who were killed in this terrible crime. Fourteen people were injured, and six people were killed when lunatic Jared Loughner opened fire.

The deceased are Judge John Roll, 63; Gabriel Zimmerman, 30; Phyllis Sheck, 79; Dorthy Murray, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; and Christina Greene, 9.

Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the target of the attack, is alive but still in critical condition.

And as one Conservative put it, "before the blood had even dried" down there in Arizona, the Left was rushing to assign blame.

To the Tea Party, of course.

Never mind the hate-filled rhetoric of the Left. Never mind all of the statements from President Obama himself inciting violence, which includes, but is by no means limited to
** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

Extra thanks to Gateway Pundit for this list. GP has worked tirelessly to keeps us informed of breaking developments in this sorry mess.

Now, liberals are running around screaming that this is the fault of the Tea Party and that angry rhetoric cause Loughner to snap and start shooting. Never mind all the stuff Obama has said.

Liberals passing through will say, 'oh, but that was just rhetoric. The president was being metaphorical.' Yeah? Well you've accused me of spouting rhetoric that caused Loughner to snap, and I'm a little out-of-the-way blogger. I don't have a public stage like Obama does. Tell me who's rhetoric Loughner would have been hearing. And yes, I referenced myself, because if you blame the Tea Party, you've blamed me.

But nevertheless, the Dems still planned to blame this on the Tea Party. In fact they planned it almost as soon as they heard about. From Politico via Gateway Pundit (emphasis added):

One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did.

“They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

I think that speaks for itself.

Besides the Tea party, there was a great liberal rush to blame Sarah Palin for the attacks. The reasoning behind this was a picture that Palin had on her website before the election, which showed Rep. Gifford's district in cross hairs.

Never mind that Brad Ellsworth, who's district was also in cross hairs, is still alive, not to mention the other politicians who were in cross hairs. Help me out here, liberals, what are you trying to prove? After the Fort Hood shooting, we were all told not to rush to judgement, but after Tucson, you all went running to blame Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. Which leave me asking, what gives?

Never mind all the Leftist rhetoric against Sarah Palin, which Michelle Malkin has detailed here.

Never mind the fact that Loughner has been fixated on Rep. Giffords since 2007, long before Sarah Palin became famous nationwide and before the Tea Party even existed.

Today word came that only 32% of America thinks that rhetoric had anything to do with the tragedy in Tuscon. Sorry Democrats.

Jared Lee Loughner is not a Tea Partier. He is insane, and he has had run-ins with the law before. However, far left loon and Tuscon Sheriff Clarence Dupnik did nothing about those threats. Via The Cholla Jumps:

The sheriff has been editorializing and politicizing the event since he took the podium to report on the incident. His blaming of radio personalities and bloggers is a pre-emptive strike because Mr. Dupnik knows this tragedy lays at his feet and his office. Six people died on his watch and he could have prevented it. He needs to step up and start apologizing to the families of the victims instead of spinning this event to serve his own political agenda.

Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers. When Pima County Sheriff’s Office was informed, his deputies assured the victims that he was being well managed by the mental health system. It was also suggested that further pressing of charges would be unnecessary and probably cause more problems than it solved as Jared Loughner has a family member that works for Pima County. Amy Loughner is a Natural Resource specialist for the Pima County Parks and Recreation. My sympathies and my heart goes out to her and the rest of Mr. Loughner’s family. This tragedy must be tearing them up inside wondering if they had done the right things in trying to manage Jared’s obvious mental instability.

Every victim of his threats previously must also be wondering if this tragedy could have been prevented if they had been more aggressive in pursuing charges against Mr. Loughner. Perhaps with a felony conviction he would never have been able to lawfully by the Glock 9mm Model 19 that he used to strike down the lives of six people and decimate 14 more.

This was not an act of politics. This was an act of a mentally disturbed young man hell bent on getting his 15 minutes of infamy. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department was aware of his violent nature and they failed to act appropriately. This tragedy leads right back to Sherriff Dupnik and all the spin in the world is not going to change that fact.
Emphasis added.

So a loony liberal sheriff - and most likely a bleeding heart liberal at that - allows an insane man who has been making threats against all types of people walk free, and then six people wind up dead.

I guess this doesn't have anything to do with Palin or the Tea Party, does it?

I'm tired of hearing liberals screech. Enough of this blame game.

Muslims: We're victims too!

The AP is determined to make sure that this 9/11, you realize that Muslims are victims too!

Don't buy it. Just don't:

American Muslims are boosting security at mosques, seeking help from leaders of other faiths and airing ads underscoring their loyalty to the United States — all ahead of a 9/11 anniversary they fear could bring more trouble for their communities.
Now I can't get inside these Muslims' heads, but they are probably lying. The Koran permits Muslims to lie to unbelievers, so all those ads claiming loyalty are probably defective merchandise.
Their goal is not only to protect Muslims, but also to prevent them from retaliating if provoked.
Given how violent Muslims actually are, eh, good luck with that one.

One Sept. 11 protest in New York against the proposed mosque near ground zero is expected to feature Geert Wilders, the aggressively anti-Islam Dutch lawmaker. The same day in Gainesville, Fla., the Dove World Outreach Center plans to burn copies of the Quran.

"We can expect crazy people out there will do things, but we don't want to create a hysteria," among Muslims, said Victor Begg of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan. "Americans, in general, they support pluralism. It's just that there's a lot of misinformation out there that has created confusion."
What misinformation exactly? This is a really important question to ask here. What is this misinformation about? What's in the Koran? We know the truth and now it needs to be suppressed? I wish I knew what this guy was talking about.

On Tuesday, the Islamic Society of North America will hold a summit of Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders in Washington "to address the growing tide of fear and intolerance" in the furor over the planned New York mosque.

Islamic centers in many cities are intensifying surveillance and keeping closer contact with law enforcement. Adding to Muslim concern is a fluke of the lunar calendar: Eid al-Fitr, a joyous holiday marking the end of Ramadan, will fall around Sept. 11 this year. Muslim leaders fear festivities could be misinterpreted as celebrating the 2001 terror strikes.
I sure hope those rabbis and pastors back out of that meeting: going to that is asking for trouble. And we don't need to see that you're celebrating: we saw it when the towers destroyed: Muslims were happy.

Separately, groups are distributing ads to combat persistent suspicions about Islam. One spot, called "My Faith, My Voice," features American Muslims saying, "I don't want to take over this country."
Yes you do want to take over this country. Don't lie to me. The goal laid out in the Koran is that there will only be piece in the world when Islam is spread throughout the entire world. Don't even bother to lie.

I could keep going, but I don't feel like it; I'm really annoyed. The AP tried to pull this stunt last year too: "don't blame the Muslims! They're just as much victims as we were!" Which is simply not true. Yes, Muslims were killed when plane the planes hit the WTC, just like members of every other ethnic group, but it doesn't matter. According to the Koran it doesn't matter if "innocent" Muslims are caught in the crossfire of a suicide attack. If they were good people they'll go to heaven. (The ultra-cynical view is, "Blow up everyone around you and let Allah sort 'em out.")

And it irritates me. I am not concerned about the feelings of living, breathing, let's-build-a-mosque-near-ground-Zero Muslims. I am more concerned about remembering the people who lost their lives on 9/11.

But hey, what can you expect from the anti-American press?

I'm Still with Israel

Guess what's ba-ack? The pro-Israel banner. 'Cause I still support Israel.

In case you missed the news, a bunch of "peace activists" tried to run a blockade in Gaza. IMAO put it best when they said these are "the sort of peace activist who want nothing more than war." Because that's exactly the kind of peace activist that tried to get into Gaza.

All sorts of things have come out about this flotilla attack. Hillary Clinton had to go open her big mouth:

"We support, in the strongest terms, the security council's call for a prompt, impartial, credible, and transparent investigation."

From the U.N.? Don't make me laugh, lady. You and I both know that the U.N. hates Israel and can't do jack squat right.

"We support an Israeli investigation that meets those criteria."

Boy, I wish I could lie like that without my conscious driving me up a wall. Maybe it's a bit early to be calling her words a lie, but I just this feeling that I'm gonna be right. We'll deal with Gaza here in a minute.

(Palestinian authority, what Palestinian authority? Yes I know I'm supposed to keep going but I couldn't help that one.)

One more for good measure:

"Ultimately the solution to this conflict must be found through an agreement based on a two-state solution negotiated between the parties."

Okay. My friend Ron Mossad had a lovely post on the two-state solution so I won't deal with it here. You can go here if you're interested in more on that. Okay, back to the point.

So Mrs. Clinton wants a fair investigation. I wonder, will that investigation include this video:

For the first few seconds of this video you can some soldiers boarding the boat. Then you see a "Peace activist" tossing a rock at a soldier. And the subtitles take care of the rest.

Wow. That's about the same kind of peace I expected from the religion of Islam - oh wait....

Gateway Pundit, through YNet News adds this statement from the soldier who was thrown over the side of the ship:
R. was the soldier who was thrown from the deck, as shown in the footage distributed by the IDF. "I was in front of a number of people with knives and clubs. I cocked my weapon when I saw that one was coming towards me with a knife drawn and I fired once. Then another 20 people came at me from all directions and threw me down to the deck below."

"Then I felt a stabbing in my stomach. It was a knife. I got the knife out, then somehow got down to the lower deck where there were more people. This was when the soldiers had got control of all the boat except the lower deck. Me and another soldier managed to get to the deck, and we jumped into the water, from where our forces collected us. Another soldier who was beaten hard lost consciousness. Other soldiers covered him until we managed to get him out."

Hmm. That doesn't sound so peaceful to me.

Obama came out and condemned Israel. Then again, they did put his friends in danger (Not that that's an excuse):
Former Weather Underground leaders William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, as well as Code Pink founder Jodie Evans, helped organize the Free Gaza Movement, which launched the six-ship flotilla from Turkey to Israel that ended in a violent clash with Israeli Defense Forces, BigGovernment.com reported.

... This wasn’t the first time that the Free Gaza Movement, whose board of directors include well-known leftists Noam Chomsky and Naomi Klein, sent vessels to Gaza to deliberately provoke a reaction from Israel.

... And if there’s any doubt that this was a political set-up instead of a humanitarian mission, the fact that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez promised to join a future convoy should dispel any doubts.

Well isn't that some interesting food for thought. So now that we know this was set up and now that we know that those peace activists weren't peace activists - unless stabbing someone in the stomach is now 'peaceful' - who's fault is it now?

Here's a hint: not Israel.

This is What America Needs to Tell Barack Obama (and Big Government)

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

Yes, this is an AMV. For the Pretty Cure All Stars movie, no less. But the song here is what I want you to focus on.

I was over at Gateway Pundit's blog reading up on another of Obumble's fumbles and I had this video going in the background, and I'd heard this song before, but then the thought hit me that, you know, this is what America needs to tell Barack Obama.

The song is by Rise Against, and the song's name is Prayer of a Refugee. Here are the lyrics. I've linked back to what I consider to be some pertinent news stories related to the theme of this song from America to Obama.

Lyrics:

Warm yourself by the fire, son,
And the morning will come soon.
I'll tell you stories of a better time,
In a place that we once knew.

Before we packed our bags
And left all this behind us in the dust,
We had a place that we could call home,
And a life no one could touch.

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,

You will let me down, down, down!

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

Down!

We are the angry and the desperate,
The hungry, and the cold,
We are the ones who kept quiet,
And always did what we were told.

But we've been sweating while you slept so calm,
In the safety of your home.
We've been pulling out the nails that hold up
Everything you've known.

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

So open your eyes child,
Let's be on our way.
Broken windows and ashes
Are guiding the way.

Keep quiet no longer,
We'll sing through the day,
Of the lives that we've lost,
And the lives we've reclaimed.

Go!

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

Don't hold me up now,
I can stand my own ground,
I don't need your help now,
You will let me down, down, down!

Don't hold me up...
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't hold me up...
(I don't need your help)
No! No! No!
Don't hold me up!
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't hold me up!
(I don't need your help, I'll stand my ground)
Don't let me down, down, down, down, down!

Happy RamaHanuKwanzMas!!

Let's make about 3% of the population mad! (Because liberals have no sense of humor.)

As most of you probably know, it's December. Even if you don't have a calender, chances are you have watched TV and seen a Christmas commercial, or gone to a store, or one of a dozen other things that will tell you one way or another, it's Christmas.

And this of course means that somewhere, some lunatic liberals is demanding that Christ be taken out of Christmas.

With that in mind, I give you Glenn Beck's Christmas classic, Happy RamaHanuKwanzMas.

Hat tip to Michelle Malkin for pointing this out to me, and others, about a year ago now. In the song, PC, of course, means politically correct.

Lyrics:

Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas, it's the PC time of year
Every holiday displayed because of morbid fear
Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas, yes we know the name is queer
But oh good golly can't offend nobody on (____)mas this year

Oh no the Eskimos need a holiday
We'll get right back to you
When we think up one for gays

Happy RamaHanuKwanzMas
What a time for winter cheer
But if you see a Christmas tree
You'll hear Christmas jeers

Screw you, ACLU for winning the twelve
Million in your lawsuit, versus Santa and his elves

Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas
And everyone must now adhere
So by golly don't hang up that holly
On (____)mas this year

{Yes, and no more sleigh bells either}

Well, with that out of the way, I return to celebrating Christmas. Everyone, have a Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas Happy Holidays MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
