Chick-fil-A and Tolerance

So this last week I learned that my gay friends are not as tolerant as I thought they were. See, Dan Cathy, owner of the Chick-fil-A franchise, came out last week in support of the Biblical definition of marriage. Gasp! Needless to say, liberals were beside themselves with the agony of having to endure anyone who followed Biblical standards. Besides, Cathy somehow managed to insult gays or something, so Cathy is obviously a jerk.

Democrats respond to perceived intolerance with real intolerance. This is, in a nutshell, the difference between liberals and Conservatives. I don't know one Conservative who appreciates, say, Westboro Baptist Church, but we don't go around demanding that they made to be quiet. We all really wish Westboro would go back to wherever they came from and just stay there, and protesting funerals is a new kind of low, but we understand that if we take away Westboro's rights to be a group of jackwagons, then what will stop anyone from taking our rights to freedom of speech? Everyone has the right to say to what they want, within reasonable limits, and being a Conservative you learn early on that all you can do is deal with it.

But liberals don't see it that way. There is only one way of thinking and it's their way. No dissent allowed.

So Cathy was flagellated in the media for having an opinion and not being afraid to say it. Liberal liberal mayors banned Chick-fil-A from their city only to have the ACLU of all groups pipe up and say that the mayors weren't allowed to ban Chick-fil-A. According to CBN:

[T]he ACLU "strongly supports" same-sex marriage, but explained that "if a government can exclude a business for being against same-sex marriage, it can also exclude a business for being in support of same-sex marriage."

Even the ACLU understands. (Incidentally, I haven't any reports of pigs flying - yet.) If the ACLU gets it, I would certainly like to know what's holding other liberals back.

And then there was the support day on the fist of August, which was a smashing success, and then there was the kiss-in response, which was a flop.

But the day after the Chick-fil-A support day, one of my friends on Facebook posting a picture to his wall that said they hoped that when someone who ate Chick-fil-A started choking on thier food, that the only person who knew CPR wasn't gay.

Now, I also support the traditional view of marriage, that is, the Biblical one. Since I learned my friend was gay, however, I have toned down my rhetoric and don't discuss my opinion as much. I haven't backed down from my beliefs, but I try to be considerate of other people. As long as they are not attacking me or my beliefs, there is no point in attacking them.

To be brutally honest, I don't care who you sleep with or why. I don't want to hear about it, regardless. I absolutely condemn homosexuality, but I don't generally condemn those who practice it. You have to attack my beliefs first, before I get riled up. But I have never discussed my views with this friend.

And I was very insulted to see that picture on his wall. Thank you for wishing that I would choke when I eat at Chick-fil-A.

I always thought he was a very tolerant person. It was a quite a shock to discover that I, who hold to beliefs so tightly and see the world very much in black and white, was far tolerant of his beliefs then he was of mine.

I understand that it happens, but is still a mystery to me: why is it that the people who are always talking about tolerance are the most intolerant of all?

Sderot

So tell me, when was the last time you turned on the TV, went to your favorite news station, and saw the commentator blaming Israel for launcing missiles at some other Middle Eastern country? Ok, so maybe not recently, but you've seen it before. You know you have.

So, did the commentator ever tell you the other side the story? Like what provoked Israel to attack in the first place? Israel does not just go around randomly lobbing missiles at other country for the fun of it. (If you have believed this in the past, then you have confused Israel with the rest of the Middle East.)

No, when Israel finally goes on the offensive, it means that they're tired of having missiles fired into thier own country. Case in point: Sderot, Israel.

From the UK's Daily Mail:

And suddenly it comes, a noise like the slamming of a heavy door as a sleek, six-foot-long Qassam rocket bursts into the cloudless blue sky.

Its trajectory is marked by a trail of white smoke as it curves towards the town. Almost simultaneously, sirens begin to wail.

A woman's urgent voice repeats the words, "Tseva Adom, Tseva Adom," over public address loudspeakers.

In Hebrew this means, "Code Red".

It signifies a missile is on its way.

Sderot's jittery residents have no more than 15 seconds to take cover before the rocket hits.

On this occasion, they will have to wait there for a long time.

For the next 72 hours Code Red alerts will sound almost continuously; Islamic militant groups in Gaza have begun raining the first of more than 100 rockets on to the town during a terrifying three-day attack.

Most miss or fizzle out.

But there's always a few that find a target.

How would you feel if this was your town? From Ron Mossad's blog:

Welcome to Sderot, Israel, population approximately 20,000. The scene you just read is one that has been repeated basically on a daily basis since March, 2002....

But Sderot isn't just a thumbtack on a google map showing the latest rocket strike in the perpetual hell of Middle East reality. It's a real city with real people that I had the privilege of visiting this past January. Palestinians fired four mortars at us while I was there. Luckily their aim was off and the mortars all landed in their own territory - no code red for me.

Seems like a lot of people are protected by, as Steven Crowder put it, "The God-given gift of Islamic Terrorist ineptitude." To bad not everyone's that lucky all the time.

And yet, despite the PTSD and seemingly perpetual choas that surrounds the city of Sderot, it's just a normal place ... well, other than the rockets, of course. Back to Ron Mossad's blog:

If you follow Israeli news you read a lot about traumatized residents of Sderot with PTSD or children that have developed panic attacks as a result of incessant Code Red alerts...but in a way, seeing how relatable the people were, affected me more than reading about victims of attacks. These people aren't superheroes, they're just regular human beings like you and me who want nothing more complicated than to be able to get out of bed in the morning WITHOUT BEING SHOT AT BY A BUNCH OF IRANIAN-FUNDED, OVERSIZED BAZOOKAS.

They have jobs, they drink tea, they send their children to school, they go out drinking (a local pub was selected by Haaretz as serving the "best cocktail" in Israel), they even produce the Bissli snacks - popular with so many American Jews - at the Osem plant right outside town. In short, this could be quiet rural town in South Jersey or Pennsylvania or Michigan or Kansas or Oklahoma or wherever. You could have had the luck of being born here instead of wherever you grew up.

The only difference is that if you had been born here, [rockets] would be falling on your head on a nearly daily basis for the past eight straight years. This is what would have been raining down on you 20, 30, 50, A HUNDRED times per DAY before your government finally decided to act against the perpetrators. This is what the rest of the world would expect you to endure falling on you as you drove to work or waited with your child for the bus or lay in bed considering what to do with your holiday weekend.

I really can't imagine what it must feel like to have missiles lobbed at you every single day. and these people live with this day after day.

So next time you hear that Israeli soldiers are being blamed for some skirmish over in the Middle East, remember Sderot.

because everyone feels bad for the Muslims who are having thier homes destroyed by the Israelis, but the mainstream media will never report on Sderot.

Muslims: We're victims too!

The AP is determined to make sure that this 9/11, you realize that Muslims are victims too!

Don't buy it. Just don't:

American Muslims are boosting security at mosques, seeking help from leaders of other faiths and airing ads underscoring their loyalty to the United States — all ahead of a 9/11 anniversary they fear could bring more trouble for their communities.

Now I can't get inside these Muslims' heads, but they are probably lying. The Koran permits Muslims to lie to unbelievers, so all those ads claiming loyalty are probably defective merchandise.

Their goal is not only to protect Muslims, but also to prevent them from retaliating if provoked.

Given how violent Muslims actually are, eh, good luck with that one.

One Sept. 11 protest in New York against the proposed mosque near ground zero is expected to feature Geert Wilders, the aggressively anti-Islam Dutch lawmaker. The same day in Gainesville, Fla., the Dove World Outreach Center plans to burn copies of the Quran.

"We can expect crazy people out there will do things, but we don't want to create a hysteria," among Muslims, said Victor Begg of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan. "Americans, in general, they support pluralism. It's just that there's a lot of misinformation out there that has created confusion."

What misinformation exactly? This is a really important question to ask here. What is this misinformation about? What's in the Koran? We know the truth and now it needs to be suppressed? I wish I knew what this guy was talking about.

On Tuesday, the Islamic Society of North America will hold a summit of Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders in Washington "to address the growing tide of fear and intolerance" in the furor over the planned New York mosque.

Islamic centers in many cities are intensifying surveillance and keeping closer contact with law enforcement. Adding to Muslim concern is a fluke of the lunar calendar: Eid al-Fitr, a joyous holiday marking the end of Ramadan, will fall around Sept. 11 this year. Muslim leaders fear festivities could be misinterpreted as celebrating the 2001 terror strikes.

I sure hope those rabbis and pastors back out of that meeting: going to that is asking for trouble. And we don't need to see that you're celebrating: we saw it when the towers destroyed: Muslims were happy.

Separately, groups are distributing ads to combat persistent suspicions about Islam. One spot, called "My Faith, My Voice," features American Muslims saying, "I don't want to take over this country."

Yes you do want to take over this country. Don't lie to me. The goal laid out in the Koran is that there will only be piece in the world when Islam is spread throughout the entire world. Don't even bother to lie.

I could keep going, but I don't feel like it; I'm really annoyed. The AP tried to pull this stunt last year too: "don't blame the Muslims! They're just as much victims as we were!" Which is simply not true. Yes, Muslims were killed when plane the planes hit the WTC, just like members of every other ethnic group, but it doesn't matter. According to the Koran it doesn't matter if "innocent" Muslims are caught in the crossfire of a suicide attack. If they were good people they'll go to heaven. (The ultra-cynical view is, "Blow up everyone around you and let Allah sort 'em out.")

And it irritates me. I am not concerned about the feelings of living, breathing, let's-build-a-mosque-near-ground-Zero Muslims. I am more concerned about remembering the people who lost their lives on 9/11.

But hey, what can you expect from the anti-American press?

About Speech Impediment Man's Hate Crimes Bill

It's probably not nice of me to call Barney Frank 'Speech Impediment Man.' But really, that's what I think of when I think of him.

But enough about him needing speech therapy. This is about bill HR 1913, A.K.A the hate crimes bill.

This bill goes against the first amendment by taking away your right to freedom of speech. The bill passed the Congress. Hopefully it dies in the Senate, but I don't know. I haven't heard anything about it yet. (Please note from this point down this blog post is rated T for teen. Only those thirteen and older, please.)

On Wednesday, April 29, the U.S. House is scheduled to vote on so-called "hate crimes" legislation, which would give "actual or perceived" "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" the same federal protection as race. Last week the House Judiciary Committee refused to exclude pedophiles from the bill's protection. The Committee also refused to include veterans. Moreover, the bill does not include the elderly.

H.R. 1913 (Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009) is not about stopping crime but is designed to give "actual or perceived" sexual preference or "gender identity" (which is still classified as a mental disorder) the same legal status as race. The DSM IVR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual used by psychologists and psychiatrists to diagnose mental disorders) lists more than 30 "sexual orientations" and "Gender Identity Disorders," including pedophilia. The hate crimes bill does not limit "sexual orientation" or "gender identity" and, thus, includes all these disorders and fetishes. The use of "actual or perceived" includes those with disorders or deviant sexual preferences and those who do not have such disorders or fetishes, so long as it is alleged that the person charged allegedly "thought" the other person had such disorder or fetish.

The hate crimes bill also provides that the federal government, under the direction of the Attorney General guidelines, may award grants to local law enforcement agencies to address these alleged incidents. In other words, the federal government can pay for so-called "sensitivity training" and coercive pro-homosexual propaganda.

Mathew Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented: "Sexual orientation and gender identity include pedophilia and every imaginable deviant fetish. Cross-dressers and pedophiles find refuge in this so-called hate crimes bill, while veterans and grandmas are left to fend for themselves. Obviously, this bill is not about the prevention of crime but is all about pushing a radical sexual anarchy. This bill will crush free speech and trample free exercise of religion."

Pedophilia is a crime, sorry. Having sex with minors is known as "statuary rape." Now, if you suffer from any of the fetishes "disorders" listed above, you may wish to leave this blog, because from here on down, I will be exercising my right to freedom of speech.

I've already been over pedophilia, so let me go over the rest of it. Cross-dressing. How can I best put my opinion of this? Um... EW! Yeah, I think that sums it up. That is disgusting.

But the real thing here is that this is Barney Frank's bill. That yaoi freak (A.K.A Homosexual) doesn't want anyone to be able to say anything against him, so he composed this bill to stop that from happening.

In doing so, he has blatantly disregarded the first amendment, and I quote:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Freedom of speech. That's what's at stake here. Do you think pedophilia's wrong? I sure do, and, under my first amendment rights, I can say so. Do I think homosexuality is wrong? Yes, and I will say so. Homosexuality is described in the Bible as a sin. Leviticus 18:22:

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

God said it, and that's the way it is. But this bill will get pastors and religious groups in trouble for speaking out against this sin. It will get police and courts in trouble for going after pedophiles. It will get any sane, rational American in trouble.

By the way, whatever happened to amendment 14 of the Constitution? You know, the one that says no rebelling against the U.S.? Doesn't trying to overturn the very first amendment count as rebelling against the U.S.?

I'm not endorsing slander, here, before the people who point fingers and shriek get up in arms. I believe homosexuality is wrong, and I demand that under the Constitution - since I am a U.S. citizen - that I be allowed to say so.

Isn't it a hate crime to try and take away my freedom of speech?

You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.

The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other bloodthirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American."

We might not be through over there, but we won the war.

And the left said we'd fail. Thank you President Bush for never giving up, and thank you to our troops, who make it safe for us to live here.

Beijing Olympics, 2008

Human rights violations. China, home of the 2008 Olympics, is full of them.

I admit, not everything is or should be a human right. But freedom of worship should be. Occasional freedom of speech is also nice.

Now before you jump on me and assume that I just think the Olympics should come back to America or something equally stupid, allow me to explain. First off, I don't care where the Olympics go. This is the only case where I've ever really cared about the Olympics, and only because of China's human rights violations. Other than that, I don't care who gets to hold the Olympics. But I do believe beyond the hesitation of a doubt that China and other human rights violation countries don't deserve to host the Olympics.

I wouldn't donate a hill of beans to the 2008 Olympics, so it's rather impressive I actually donated one whole blog post entirely to the subject.

And now, because opinions are everywhere on blogs, I went out and did a blog search on this subject. One of the more interesting blogs I found was this one right here. You can learn alot from doing a simple blog search. Interesting excerpts from that blog include:

Why so much hate for an event that’s supposed to bring people together for two weeks? Well, for starters, the first juvenile reason is because Toronto should have won the bid seven years.

This is why I said you can learn interesting things. So Toronto wanted to hold the Olympics, eh? They should have. Here's another excerpt.

He retired. What an easy way out. But I wonder: why did he give it to China? Did they bribe him, or something?

Ah, no. We are trying to protect our FREEDOM. Heaven forbid that we take drastic steps to preserve it. I'd apologise for the fact we offended you, but I won't because I couldn't care any less if I wanted to. China is currently the one with the pressure on because they are the ones hosting the Olympics.

Uh, yeah, earth to blogger, this isn't about Asia. You can host the Olympics in Japan, and that would be fine with me. This is about China's human rights violations.

Now see, this is what I'm talking about. I wonder what those people are trying to hide. And also:

Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, released a translated document Wednesday from China's Public Security Bureau that he said orders hotels to use the monitoring programs. .....

.... The translated document offered by Brownback's staff states that "refusing the installment or stopping operation of the system after installment will be subject to punishment. ... In case of serious violation, access to the Internet will be suspended or the business license will be canceled."

Uh-huh. I find this rather interesting.

One last blog, before I move on.

For the people who love to use human rights as an example, accusing a country of violating human rights is a serious offence. It is more so when the countries that make the accusations have violated or still violate human rights. What right does the West including the United States have in accusing China of human rights violations when there are many human rights violations in the West? Italy was accused by the European Commission of Human Rightsof violating the rights of the Roma [Gypsy] Population. Many countries in Europe also violated the rights of the Roma [Gypsy] Population since the right of the Roma Population is to live as eternal migrants and Europe does not want to recognize these rights. In France, the 2002 Presidential Elections left Chirac in First Place with Le Pen in Second Place. While I do not agree with Le Pen, the fact that Chirac and the mainstream political parties in France sidelined Le Pen and his supporters so that Chirac could win the Presidency is hardly an example of democracy.

Alright. I agree with that ... sort of.

The United States of America and its Mainstream Media cannot accuse China of Human Rights Violations without taking into account that they are always a society spoiling for a fight.

Umm, excuse me? On what grounds do you claim that we are always spoiling for a fight?

At the same time, the Libertarians and Greens are excluded from the political process secondary to archaic election laws that favour the Republicans and Democrats.

What election laws? There's other parties out there besides those two. You just have to get support from the public.

What does the West want including the Mainstream Media? They want to impose their way of life on the rest of the world but when immigrants from Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America come to Europe and North America, there are the so called alarm bells of “being invaded”. The Human Rights as practiced in the West is one in which many forms of immorality are admitted while the innocent suffer from the abuse and injustices who preach human rights. The hypocrisy is so big that these people charge Sixty or Seventy Dollars for their so called workshops while people in America have to pay almost $5.00 a liter for their petrol or gasoline.

This confuses me. This blogger gave no evidence to back this up, and I have no idea what he's talking about. (sigh) Let's move on.



So what have we learned in all this? Let's look:

1. No country is perfect.

Sadly, it's a fact. No matter how rabidly I defend my country, there is just no place on this Earth that is perfect.

2. People see what they want to see.

This, too, is also a true fact. So what's the point of this?



The Point: Does China deserve to host the Olympics?

No. They do not. Perhaps they will sometime in the future, but as things stand, right now, they do not. Should we boycott the games? Well I definitely won't be going to China, if that's what you mean. Should the athletes stay away? No. They should go over there, and win the gold. Should President Bush stay away? No. He should go over there and make it a point to bring up the human rights violation.

I probably won't watch the Olympics. I really have no interest in them, no matter where they're held. Besides, by this time next week I'll be back to school, and won't have as much time to watch TV anyway. Whether or not other people watch them is total up to those people. This is simply my opinion.

Hopefully, the 2012 Olympics will be in Toronto. In the meantime, I hope America brings home the gold.

A Reason Not To Care

Today I was shown a letter written by a woman from Louisiana, and I must say, this woman is correct. She did not sign her name to it. If you agree with what you see here, pass it on.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 ?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care..

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.'

The last thing, by the way, that we should do is to elect a muslim as President of the United States, someone who claims to love America yet, WILL NOT salute the flag, WILL NOT pledge allegience to our flag, and sat in a church listening to a 'pastor' that HATES America! Are you Freakin' kidding me?
